Journey To My Healthy Body, Fashion, and France

Hello there lovely ladies. So, I chickened out of following through with this blog before but now I am fully committed and ready to share the many ideas lined up for upcoming posts. I’m not going to be updating on certain days but I hope to update at least once a week. I just want to remind people that I am 16 so I do have school to go to still ;)

First, as of last Wednesday, March 5th, I began to focus a lot on making sure my body was healthy, so no junk food and more exercise. Yippee, right? In the past 9 days of my healthy eating and fitness I've come to the conclusion that I want to blog my journey as a way for me to stay on track and hopefully to inspire others to take care of their bodies too. (:

Second, I am very into fashion and make-up tricks and tips and everything about them. But, I don't like to spend a lot of money on that stuff so a lot of what I post about beauty will be cheaper alternatives. I already have things lined up.

I'm very excited about this final part!! I am going to Paris and the Loire Valley this Easter and I will be vlogging that trip (but posting when I get back in the States). I want to do a daily vlog but since I won't be able to post daily it might just be a few videos or one mashup. I also will be making posts about packing for the trip and preparations before I leave.

Today I wanted to share a tinsy reflection after my first full week on my journey to a healthy body!

I don't know exactly what hit me but something did and the motivation hasn't stopped yet. Maybe it was the rejection of the softball team for the second year in a row, or the doctor telling me I need my BMI to go down, or just the snow melting away the frozen winter that has entrapped me for the past three months, but, whatever it is, I couldn't be more thankful for it.

Last Wednesday was my last day of a lazy diet and now I am cracking the whip. I've been seriously disciplining myself into eating all healthy food. So far, I've had more carrots in the past week then the past year. I've saved about $7 on vending machine junk food. And, I've lost one pound!! Yay!

This week I did 4 different workouts. Day 1 of workouts was 1 mile run and strength training so abs and such. I usually find workouts on pinterest. I find they have a variety of excellent workouts. Day 2 I did Jillian Michael's Ripped in 30 DVD workout. I've used this DVD before and it definetly works, if you are willing to stick with it. (: I highly recommend it. Day 3 I did 21 minutes of Zumba Core on my Wii and the Wii fit yoga and boxing (6 minutes). Personally, I love Wii fit and any exercise related Wii games. Day 4 was an hour power walk and 15 minute abs. Currently I am soaking in the bath because of my sore muscles.

One healthy post workout snack I strongly recommend is a smoothie. Today I made a greek yogurt, strawberry, banana, and cinamon smootie and it tasted heavenly. I thought it would need something sweet in it because I used to add honey or even ice cream sometimes to my smoothies but this was the best smoothie I have ever made at home.

Honestly, the worst part of the entire experience has been not giving into temptations to eat sweets or junk food. My family will have pizza for dinner, or someone will bring in cookies to school and I just want to dig in but unltimately I have to keep in mind that my body needs to be taken care of first and foremost.

Thanks for reading :)
